Jim McIngvale, an extraordinarily wealthy Houston-area businessman who owns a furniture retail chain, recently placed a $1.9 million bet on the Houston Astros to repeat as World Series champions, according to Jared Schwartz of the New York Post.

Known as “Mattress Mack,” McIngvale bet on the Astros at +600 odds and the payout would earn him $11.4 million with a $13.3 million total payout.

He recorded a video from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas announcing his latest bet.

“They won last year, and this is the golden age of Houston Astros baseball,” McIngvale said in the video. “And they will cement the dynasty by winning the world championship this year.”

McIngvale won $75 million last year with multiple bets on the Astros to win the World Series, which they did in six games against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Before last season, McIngvale placed a $3 million bet on the Astros to win the World Series at +1000 odds. He then continued to place more bets on the team throughout the regular season and postseason.

After the Astros celebrated the championship with a parade, McIngvale said that he used most the $75 million to cover the expenses for a special promotion for his furniture business.

During last season, McIngvale offered a promotion to his customers where they would get their money back on mattress sets that cost over $3,000 if the Astros won the World Series.

Now “Mattress Mack” is ready for back-to-back wins.

“All I gotta say is, coach did a great job, Astros gonna win the World Series again this year,” McIngvale said. “Go ‘Stros.”
