New Red Sox Star Justin Turner Shares Thoughts On Cora and Houston Astros Cheating Scandal
There is no love lost between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros following the events of the 2017 World Series. The Astros went on to win the championship in 2017 but then were found guilty of a cheating scandal which many have claimed help propel them to pass the Dodgers.
Current Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora made headlines earlier last week when in Evan Drellich's new book, "Winning Fixes Everything," he said “We stole that [expletive] World Series,” to his players.
Now things could get messy as Justin Turner, the heart and soul of the Dodgers clubhouse for years, has signed with the Red Sox for the 2023 MLB season. He was with Los Angeles when they lost the 2017 World Series to Houston.
Turner was asked if he spoke with Cora and his role in the scandal before singing with Boston.
“I’m sure that’s a conversation we’ll have in person right when we get there and move on," said Turner.
He also said he never spoke with Cora about the incident prior to signing with the Red Sox according to David Vessegh.
As Turner enters the twilight of his career, just having the opportunity to play at the Major League level competitively will probably be enough to keep this from becoming anything other than a non-issue.
