There will be a new flavor of Houston Astros ice cream to benefit local charities in the Houston area, according to a local community report.

H-E-B is introducing its Creamy Creations Houston Astros Peanut Brittle ice cream as Opening Day approaches.

The peanut butter ice cream combined with peanut brittle pieces and a caramel swirl arrived in Houston-area stores about one week ago, according to the report. Five percent of each ice cream purchase will be donated to the Astros Foundation, which focuses on supporting youth baseball and softball programs, reducing homelessness and raising awareness about childhood cancer.

This Astros ice cream will only be available in the Houston area and will be available in pint sizes and half-gallons while supplies last.

The carton for this exclusive ice cream is a tribute to the Astros’ home field, Minute Maid Park. It also features Astros mascot Orbit holding a cone containing the ice cream.

The defending World Series champion Astros will open their season Thursday against the Chicago White Sox.
