Son Of Former Astros Standout Dickie Thon Will Manage In Double-A /

Joe Thon, the son of former Houston Astros standout infielder Dickie Thon, will manage the Astros’ Double-A Corpus Christi affiliate this season, the organization announced.

Joe Thon will replace Gregorio Petit, who left to manage the Oakland A’s Single-A affiliate. Thon managed at Single-A Fayetteville last season, finishing with a 55-77 record.

Thon has been a coach in the Astros’ organization since 2021. He spent the ‘20 season as a volunteer assistant at the University of Houston.
