Houston Astros prospect Kenedy Corona may have made one of the best catches in minor league baseball this year with Double-A Corpus Christi on Tuesday.

Corona, an Astros Top 30 prospect, was playing center field for the Hooks against the Frisco RoughRiders.

A Frisco player hit a long fly ball to center field, one that was headed over the fence — until Corona leapt up, made the catch and tumbled over the wall to make the out.

Corona has played 91 games this season, 85 of which have come with Corpus (the other six were with High Class-A Asheville to start the season). Combined, he is hitting .269/.357/.507/.864 with 21 home runs and 52 RBI. The home runs is already a single-season career high.

Corona signed with the New York Mets out of Venezuela in 2019. The Astros acquired him in a trade in December of 2019, as the Astros sent outfielder Jake Marisnick to the Mets for pitcher Blake Taylor and Corona.

In 2022, Corona slashed .278/.362/.495/.857 with 19 home runs and 67 RBI.
