Chad Pinder was a beloved member of the Oakland A's for parts of seven seasons, but after the 2022 campaign he reached free agency and the A's decided to bring in Aledmys Díaz and Jace Peterson instead of reuniting with Pinder.

The Cincinnati Reds signed him to a minor league deal back in February with a pretty decent shot at making the club in some fashion, but he struggled this spring, going just 4-for-39 (.103) with a .167 OBP.

The Reds decided to release Pinder on Friday morning among a number of other roster moves.

Pinder hit .235 with a .263 on-base last season while clubbing a dozen homers with the A's, so there could be a fit on the horizon for him, but it won't be with the Reds.
