Several A's Draftees Enjoy Prospect Rankings Boost

The A's top 30 prospects list has now been updated from the draft, and a handful of them have cracked the list.

In this story:

This summer, the A's went ahead and added some talent to their already loaded farm system. With a bunch of new talent and talent on the active roster, this team could be really scary over the next few seasons.

The team added Drew Burress in the first round of the MLB Draft, an outfielder from Georgia Tech. Burress' ceiling is super high, and he could join an A's outfield loaded with speed and hitting tools.

Without looking at the new guys, the A's still have the second-ranked prospect in all of baseball in Leo De Vries. The shortstop was acquired in the deal that sent Mason Miller to the Padres.

The A's also have the 57th-ranked prospect in all of baseball, Jamie Arnold. The Florida State product was the team's first-round selection last year and is putting together an impressive season in Double-A with the Midland Rockhounds.

Drew Burress Joins MLB's Top 100

The A's first-round selection, Drew Burress, not only slots in as the team's second-ranked prospect behind Leo De Vries, but he also slots into the MLB's top 100 prospects. As mentioned, De Vries is the second-ranked in all of baseball, and Jamie Arnold is 57th.

Burress has slotted in as the 41st-ranked prospect in all of baseball. He comes in ranked higher than the Cardinals' stud southpaw Liam Doyle, the Angels' former second overall selection Tyler Bremner, and the Rockies' former third overall selection Charlie Condon.

This is certainly an exciting nod for Burress as he was promoted to Low-A Stockton, where he will likely play the remainder of his 2026 season.

The hope is that Burress can work his way up the A's minor league system next season, and if he can, reach Triple-A before the season's end.

Other A's Draftees Join Their Top 30

Drew Burress has slotted in as the No. 2 A's prospect, but the other draftees from this summer have also joined the top 30.

Second-rounder Mason Edwards joins the farm as the eighth-ranked prospect. The USC southpaw led all of Division I pitching in strikeouts, which earned him the high selection from the A's.

Gabe Gaeckle joins the system as the 11th-ranked prospect, and he might have an even higher ceiling than Edwards. A 60-grade fastball and slider mix is always exciting. Right behind him at the 12th spot is Jacob Dudan, the team's third-round selection.

Fourth-rounder Roman Martin out of UCLA sits at 18, and he is the final prospect from this summer to be ranked in the A's farm system. Overall, it seems like there's potential that this could be one of the better draft classes we have seen from the A's.
