Yesterday, the Oakland A's latest renderings for their proposed ballpark in Las Vegas dropped. There have been some mixed reviews, but by and large the renderings have not been received terribly well by baseball fans because they still leave so many questions left unanswered

Today, the A's sent out a press release with quotes from a number of the leaders in Nevada showing their support for the A's and the project moving forward.

Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo

“We’re excited to welcome The Athletics to Las Vegas and to see their state-of-the-art ballpark come to life. The Athletics and their new home on the Las Vegas Strip will further Nevada’s reputation as an international sports destination, and we look forward to welcoming generations of baseball fans to our city and state.”

Jim Gibson, Chair of the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority

This marks another great step forward in reinforcing our destination’s position as the premier global sports destination. The new ballpark will not only feature the most innovative architecture and design, but also incorporates key elements that capture the energy and excitement that is so unique to our destination.

Steve Hill, CEO and President of the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority

The new state-of-the-art ballpark for the Athletics will be a fantastic addition to the Las Vegas Strip’s iconic skyline. As shown in the renderings, the ballpark will echo the vibrance and energy that is so uniquely Las Vegas. We proudly welcome the Athletics to the sports and entertainment capital of the world and know this new ballpark will be embraced by baseball fans from around the globe.

Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and President of MGM Resorts International

The innovative design of the Athletics’ ballpark will make it a welcome addition to an already vibrant and evolving end of the Las Vegas Strip. We look forward to welcoming our new neighbors and all of the fans they will attract to our destination.

Virginia Valentine, President and CEO, Nevada Resort Association

The new ballpark will not only enhance the Strip’s iconic skyline, but it will also further expand Las Vegas’ growing reputation as a sports destination. We are happy to welcome the Athletics to Las Vegas and are thrilled to offer visitors another great reason to travel to our destination.

Don Logan, President and COO, Las Vegas Aviators

We are thrilled to welcome the A's to our community. With our rich history of baseball, we are excited to join forces to make it even stronger, cementing Southern Nevada as a premier baseball destination.

Vince Saavedra, Executive Secretary Treasurer of Southern Nevada Building Trades Unions

The new ballpark is an incredible opportunity for our state’s union workers who will benefit from the jobs created to bring this incredible facility to life. We look forward to embarking on this project and creating yet another community masterpiece that employs the men and women of the Southern Nevada Building Trades Unions, whose skills are second to none.

Jason Caldwell, President of Henderson Little League & Chris Mallory, VP of Baseball, Summerlin South Little League

We can’t wait to have a Major League Baseball presence in Las Vegas and know the team's presence will help enhance the love of the sport for so many young athletes involved in Little League. The Athletics’ commitment to baseball development at the youth level has been incredible and we are confident that this is another milestone in what is sure to be a bright future for the sport.
