Nothing to fear, at least not yet.

Toronto Blue Jays star outfielder George Springer was removed from Saturday's rehab start with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons in the fourth inning, leading to rampant speculation about the cause. However, the outfielder's fourth rehab start reportedly "all went according to plan."

"My understanding is that all went according to plan in last night’s rehab start for George Springer," media relations representative Pat Malacaro of the Buffalo Bisons said via email.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins spoke with the media Sunday, and said Springer was removed from the game due to weather precautions. Due to rain in the area, the field in Rochester was wet.

Springer had two at bats in the rehab start and made a running catch in centerfield. Overall, Springer is two-for-14 with three total bases in his four rehab starts. Springer has been spending time at designated hitter and in the outfield during his time with the Bisons, but Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said the $150 million free agent signing would not return to the big league club just to DH.

The Bisons play again on Sunday, with a 1:05 pm EST start, and Springer returns to the Bisons lineup, leading off and playing CF. Jacob Waguespack, a member of the 2019 and 2020 Blue Jays, gets the start for Buffalo as they face off against the Rochester Red Wings.
