Watch: Joe Panik Hopes to Find Middle Ground for 'Sticky Stuff' Usage

Blue Jays infielder Panik hopes Major League Baseball and the Players' Association can find a middle ground on the use of 'sticky stuff' by pitchers

Major League Baseball is currently attempting to figure out how to deal with the issue of foreign grip substances in baseball.

Reports indicate the league is looking to "crack down" on pitchers using substances not only to help grip the ball, but to dramatically increase spin rate. Elite pitchers such as Trevor Bauer, Gerrit Cole, and James Karinchak have been at the centre of a league wide look into the use of 'sticky stuff.'

Blue Jays infielder Joe Panik hopes MLB can find a 'middle ground,' allowing pitchers to use a regulated substance to maintain grip on the ball while not using "super tack."

"Let's try to grow the game," Panik said. "Instead of fighting over it, let's try to grow it together."
