Austin Riley hit his fifth home run in the last four games on Friday night to help lift the Atlanta Braves to a 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Austin Riley hit his fifth home run in the last four games on Friday night to help lift the Atlanta Braves to a 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

After falling behind early, the Braves offense came right back and put a bunch of runs on the board early.

Michael Soroka and the bullpen were able to hold on for the win with Kirby Yates getting the save despite a pair of walks.

Austin Riley Stays Hot

It's been quite the second half for Austin Riley so far as hit a home run in his fourth straight game.

He's 9-27 since the All-Star break with 5 home runs, 1 double, 1 triple, and 14 RBI.

The third baseman now has his season OPS back up over .800 and it looks like he's more than ready to go on one of his patented hot streaks.

Michael Soroka continues to improve

Looking at the final line for Soroka may not look all that impressive as he gave up 4 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks over 6 innings with 4 strikeouts on 87 pitches.

But the damage really came down to four at-bats.

He left fastballs over the middle of the plate to the first two hitters of the game for Milwaukee that both went for doubles and he quickly found himself down 2-0.

Then he settled down and pretty much cruised through the next four innings before giving up a single and home run to start the sixth.

There is still plenty of growth for Soroka, mainly consistency with the movement of his pitches, but he seems to be getting more comfortable each time out there.

Old friends getting revenge against old teams

There were several reunions in this game with players going against their old team.

The Braves traded William Contreras in the offseason in a move that surprised a lot of people.

He exacted some revenge with a double, single, RBI, and run scored. Most Braves fans still love Wild Bill and it's good to see him having another good year.

Bryse Wilson was dominated out of the bullpen throwing 3 perfect innings with 5 strikeouts against his old team.

And then on the Braves' side, Orlando Arcia returned to Milwaukee and hit a 2-run homer to give the Braves the lead in the second and very nearly hit another later in the game.

These two teams will battle again on Saturday at 7:15 PM ET with Allan Winans set to make his major league debut facing off against Adrian Houser.
