Could Dylan Dodd turn the corner for the Atlanta Braves this season?

The 24-year-old prospect has shown moments so far for the Atlanta Braves in Spring Training so far and it is starting the catch the eye of members of the Braves media.

His fastball is generating conversation on the daily Locked On Braves podcast.

"The biggest thing for me for Dylan Dodd is that fastball," Locked On braves host Jake Mastroianni said on the Monday show. "It has a lot of life on it. You hear it from other players facing him just how much that fastball gets on you even though it's a low to mid-90s fastball, it has good life on it and that's impressive."

With the Braves searching for depth in the pitching rotation before the 2023 season, Dodd is fighting for a spot in the majors this season.

"He's 24 so it's not like he's a super young, up-and-coming prospect but he has just 53 innings above A ball," Mastroianni said. "Even as impressive as he has been, I think regardless unless there are several more injuries or Ian Anderson can't figure it out, Bryce Elder doesn't come back, i still think Dodd needs more refinement in the minor leagues. I see more upside in him after watching spring training."

In his career so far in the minors, he's 12-11 with a 3.87 ERA.
