Atlanta Braves Day Three draft recap: A focus on collegiate production
The Atlanta Braves have completed their selections in the 2023 MLB Draft, adding a total of 21 new prospects to the organization (pending signings, which is never a given in baseball).
After two days that had clear themes behind the selections - pure unadulterated stuff on day one and really good data/metrics on day two, day three's theme was evident - guys who produced in college, at any level. All ten of the selections on day three were college players.

R19P579: LHP Riley Frey, Milwaukee
R20P609: C Will King, Eastern Kentucky
There's not usually tons of info available when you get hundreds of picks into the draft, but we've got SOMETHING on every single one of the guys that Atlanta took.
The next steps are signings: Atlanta's got a draft pool of $8,341,700 (+5%) to spend on signing these 21 players - only players within the top ten rounds count against the pool unless a player from rounds 11-20 signs for more than $150,000 - any excess over that amount counts against the pool but with mostly college seniors, that's not expected to come up.
The downside to this: Atlanta's going to need to make some roster moves as signings happen to keep themselves under the domestic reserve limit of 180 players. There will be minor leaguers released in the coming weeks as teams sign their draft picks.
