The Braves have an interesting schedule to start the year, as they have multiple series with the best teams in the league and a few series with the worst teams.

The Braves open up their 2023-24 campaign with a three-game set against the Washington Nationals in our nation's capital.

The Brave's easier series of the month will come against the Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, and Miami Marlins.

It is baseball, so anything is possible, but these should be four series the Braves have a relatively easy time taking care of.

Then they also have some series that will be much more difficult in the Houston Astros, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, and the San Diego Padres - twice.

Where do these teams rank in ESPN's preseason MLB power rankings?

Houston Astros-1st

New York Mets- 4th

San Diego Padres- 5th - both home and away

St. Louis Cardinals- 11th

Miami Marlins- 23rd

Kansas City Royals- 25th

Washington Nationals- 29th

Cincinnati Reds- 30th

The series with the Nationals, Cardinals, Mets, and Royals will be on the road. The Reds, Astros, and Marlins series will be played in Truist Park. Of course, the Braves will have six games with the Padres, with three being at home and three being on the road.

The two keys for the Braves over the first month of the season will be to take care of the lesser opponents and play well in front of their home crowd.

The first three-game set with their NL East rival Mets will be a tough one as the Braves have to head to the Big Apple. This and the series with the Astros will be the marquee series of April.

Great opponents create great opportunities, so the Braves have a challenging but manageable schedule to open their season.
