Takeaways: The Braves struggles continue in a loss to the Philadelphia Phillies

Struggles at the dish led to a blowout loss for the Braves.

The Atlanta Braves have lost their fourth straight game after a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The offense was stagnant, and the pitching wasn't great, leading to this big loss.

What can we take a lot from the Braves 7-1 loss to the Phillies?

Offense struggled

Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

The Braves offense, which is one of the best offenses in the MLB, only had four hits against the Phillies in this ball game. Zack Wheeler is a great starter, but this offense should never have less than seven hits. Luckily, the Braves have a while to figure out this slump. Hopefully, the offense will be back to normal for tomorrow night's game against the Phillies. The Braves need a win badly, and there is no better way to get one than with Spencer Strider on the bump.

Kyle Wight is struggling

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Wright has struggled since he came back from his injury. He only allowed five hits in his four innings of work but also walked four batters. You can't walk batters if you want to have a good outing, and Wright did this at a high rate in his start. He threw 78 pitches, with only 47 being strikes. The Braves righty needs to fill up the zone if he is going to figure things out before the postseason begins.

The Braves will be fine

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Braves are on a skid right now. There is no doubt about that, but things will be okay. They are one of the best teams in baseball, and the fans need to sleep well tonight, knowing when the lights come on for playoff time, this team will show up. With 12 games left on the schedule, this team will work through the struggles before they play a postseason game.

What's next?

The Braves will look to even the series with the Phillies when ace Spencer Strider gets the ball. He will face Christopher Sanchez on TBS at 7:20 et.
