Coors Light: The Braves have owned the Rockies in 2023
Sometimes, you just have someone's number. That seems to be the case when it comes to the Braves playing against the Rockies. Atlanta sports a 6-0 record with a +40-run differential against Colorado this season. Only one of those games has even been close, that was the one last night where the Braves only won 3-1. What were the other scores? 8-3, 8-1, 10-2, 14-6, and 14-4.
There was only one of those games where the Braves hitters had less than double-digit hits. On June 16th, the Braves only managed to get seven hits, but they still won 8-1. In the other games in the series, Atlanta has had 11, 13, 18, 18, and 15 hits. The Braves only scored three runs last night even though they managed 15 hits. The offense has been humming against Colorado at home and on the road.
The Rockies only managed to get double-digit hits against the Braves once over the six-game stretch. On June 18th, the Rockies had 11 hits but still lost 14-6. In the other five games, the Rockies had 9, 3, 7, 7, and 6 hits. That equals out to the Braves outhitting Colorado 82-43 in six games. That is almost as good as the Braves overall record. (Baseball Reference)
Atlanta only has one more game against the Rockies this year as Darius Vines gets his first start in the bigs tonight against the Rockies. We will see if the Braves can finish a perfect 7-0 on the year against Colorado and keep the win streak going.
