Eddie and Goliath: Rosario the Giant Slayer

Eddie Rosario doesn't need a sling and a stone to slay the Giants.

What a great story for a Sunday. Most of us know the story of David and Goliath where David used a sling and a stone to defeat the giant. When it comes to Eddie Rosario, all he needs is a bat and a ball.

Eddie Rosario loves playing against the San Francisco Giants. He has appeared in 14 games against them and in 44 plate appearances, he has 21 hits. That's good enough for a .477 Batting Average. That's his highest batting average against any team in the MLB and it isn't close. The next closest team is Tampa Bay, who he has a .376 batting average against.

Let's dive even further into those stats, what ballpark does Rosario have his highest batting average? You guessed it, Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. In nine games at Oracle Park, he is 12-for-28 (.429 Batting Average). What makes that stat even more interesting is that the Braves are headed to San Francisco soon.

Atlanta just took two-of-three games from the Giants at home and will play a reeling New York Mets team in Atlanta for a three-game series before taking an off day on Thursday to fly to California for a three-game series at Oracle Park.

Rosario was known as a legend against the NL West, mainly for his work against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2021 NLCS. He won MVP for that series after having a .571 batting average in that series. It's the Giants who he has done his best work against, though.
