He's started one game since being acquired by Atlanta, going 3.2 innings with six hits and four runs against Milwaukee in an eventual 10-7 Braves victory. Only three current Angels have faced him, with 3B Eduardo Escobar being 1-2 with a solo home run, OF Randal Grichuk being 2-8 with a home run and two RBIs, and utility man Andrew Velasquez 1-2.
Opposing Atlanta is new Angels pitcher Lucas Giolito. 6-7 with a 3.85 ERA on the season, this is his 2nd start since being acquired from the Chicago White Sox for two top ten prospects, C Edgar Quero and LHP Ky Bush. He took the loss in his only Angels start of the season, going 5.1 innings against Toronto with six hits and three runs. He only walked one and struck out five, but was done in by two Blue Jays home runs. Several Braves have faced him before, with Matt Olson (2-6, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs), Travis d'Arnaud (1-3, solo home run), and Eddie Rosario (.265 average in 34 at-bats, with two home runs and three RBIs) all having taken him deep.
