Braves Briefing: Ronald Acuña injury update
The Atlanta Braves split the action in a doubleheader with the New York Mets. After winning 9-8 in game one, Atlanta fell short 5-3 in the second nine-inning slate.
In the first at-bat of the second game, Ronald Acuña was hit by a 94 MPH fastball from Tylor Megill and left the game after being assisted by the training staff.
Ronald Acuña injury update
After Acuña left the game, he got some X-rays done at the stadium according to reports. Then the Braves sent him to a local hospital for further testing according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.
Later in the day, the Atlanta Braves tweeted, "Ronald Acuña Jr. is day-to-day after further imaging revealed no fracture."
Hopefully, Acuña is able to continue his MVP bid-level season soon.

We wrote it
Jake Mastroianni of Braves Today wrote about our Braves of the Month. Of course, Spencer Strider was tabbed as the pitcher of the month.
Another fairly obvious choice, Spencer Strider is 3-0 to begin the season with a 1.80 ERA and 0.83 WHIP in 30 innings with 49 strikeouts and just 14 hits allowed.
His strikeout rate is even higher than it was during his record-setting season in 2022.
If you wanted to make one small criticism of Strider it's that he's walked too many batters at times. But he really cleaned that up in his last outing when he didn't walk a batter over 8 innings and took a no-hitter into the eighth inning.
Max Fried is right there with Strider, and had he not missed a couple of starts we might have a real discussion for pitcher of the month.
