Takeaways: The Atlanta Braves beat the Angels 12-5 to win the series

The Braves routed the Angels to take the series.

The Braves were able to take the series from the Los Angeles Angels as they won the finale 12-5.

The Angels have been playing good baseball this season, so it's a good series win for the good guys and the Braves just refuse to lose a series.

What can we take away from this 12-5 win over the Angels?

Michael Harris II had a big game

Paul Rutherford-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Harris II had a rough start to the 2023 season but has been playing good baseball lately. He has his batting average all the way up to .283. Harris II had three hits in this game, scoring three times and knocking in two runs himself. There is nothing scarier than a baseball team that has a nine-hole hitter who does damage. Money Mike was on fire in this ball game.

The Braves scored in four of eight frames

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Braves got eight plate appearances, and they scored in four of them. Sometimes in baseball, a team will get a lead and then take their foot off the gas. Not this Braves ball club; they like to score early and often. This will help fend off comebacks when the Braves are playing postseason baseball.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is the best player in baseball

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Ronald Acuña Jr. is the best player in baseball, in my opinion, and games like this prove why. The Braves right fielder was on base four times in this game with a homer, double, single, and walk. He scored four times and drove in three runs himself. Acuña Jr's batting average is up to .335 on the year. Acuña Jr will run away with the NL MVP Award. It's a joy to be able to watch Acuña Jr play baseball every day.

What's Next?

The Braves have an off day on Thursday, then will start a three-game set with the Chicago Cubs, who have been hot lately. The Braves have not officially named a starter for this ball game, but Brian Snitker said ahead of today's game that the expectation is that Max Fried will be activated for the start. This first game of the series will be played on Friday at 2:20 ET from Chicago's Wrigley Field.
