Braves Briefing: Michael Harris II is having himself a June

Just like "Marcell May" was a thing, apparently Michael Harris "June"-yor is too

There was a point in time where Braves fans were asking for Michael Harris II to get optioned to Gwinnett to fix his swing.

The notion feels quaint.

Since June 7th, Michael Harris is batting .409/.420/.697 with a 197 wRC+ (meaning he's been 97% better than the average hitter in baseball). The turning point was that Mets game where he went 3-4 with a homer, a double, and three RBIs after a pep talk the night before from Marcell Ozuna, who reminded the young outfielder that he was capable of being one of the best players in baseball if he'd just believe in himself and go play freely.

Marcell Ozuna, Life Coach!

With Harris going 3-3 last night against Minnesota, his third time going 3-3 or better in the last twelve games (4-4 on June 14th, 5-5 on June 18th), he ties Ted Williams in 1939 as the only MLB player to accomplish that feat three times in a dozen game span at age 22 or younger.

On Monday, Andrew Stefaniak covered the Braves' win for Braves Today. He highlighted the continuation of the Cy Young case for Spencer Strider:

Spencer Strider had an outstanding start for the Braves, going seven innings only allowing one run on three hits while striking out ten. Strider picks up his ninth win of the season, bringing his record on the season to 9-2. Strider makes his case stronger on a start-to-start basis for why he should win the National League Cy Young Award. Strider now has 11 career starts while ten or more strikeouts.

Check out the rest of his takeaways here.
