Braves Briefing: The 2023 Atlanta Braves keep making history
The Atlanta Braves are the best team in baseball right now so it should come as no surprise that they lead MLB in representatives in the game.
The Atlanta Braves have made history within their franchise by securing a remarkable eight players as All-Stars in a single season. This achievement surpasses their previous record of seven players, which was achieved in both the 2003 and 1997 seasons. The Braves' All-Star roster includes a talented group of individuals comprising Bryce Elder, Spencer Strider, Sean Murphy, Ozzie Albies, Orlando Arcia, Matt Olson, Austin Riley, and Ronald Acuña Jr.
According to MLB.com, The Braves' accomplishment places them among a select group of teams that have amassed an even higher number of All-Stars in a single season. Interestingly, all of these teams belong to the American League. The Braves' eight All-Stars now share the distinction of being tied with the 2008 Cubs, 1960 Pirates, 1956 Reds, and 1943 Cardinals for the most All-Star selections by a National League club in a season.
Impressively, the Braves' All-Star roster features six position players, a notable achievement that puts them in contention with some historically strong teams. Specifically, they now share the distinction of having the third-highest number of position player All-Stars in a season. Only the 1976 Reds and 1939 Yankees, each boasting seven position player All-Stars, hold a higher rank in this regard. Prior to the Braves' remarkable feat, the 2008 Red Sox were the most recent team to have achieved at least six position player All-Stars, with the 1978 Red Sox being the last to achieve this prior to them.
In addition to the Braves' impressive overall All-Star representation, three of their players have earned starting positions in the All-Star Game. This marks a significant milestone for the franchise, as it is the first time since 1960 that the Braves have had three or more non-pitcher starters. Reflecting on the notable 1960 season, the Braves boasted an impressive lineup of four non-pitcher starters, featuring the esteemed names of Henry Aaron, Joe Adcock, Del Crandall, and Eddie Mathews.
The Atlanta Braves' record-breaking achievement of eight All-Stars in a single season not only showcases the exceptional talent within their roster but also solidifies their position among the most successful National League clubs in terms of All-Star selections. As the team continues to make its mark in the history books, fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming All-Star Game to witness these outstanding Braves players take the field and showcase their skills on a national stage.

Lindsay Crosby tackled the coverage of the series finale against the Miami Marlins when he highlighted Spencer Strider's incredible performance.
Spencer Strider's best start of the 2023 season was April 24th against Miami, where he threw eight scoreless innings with two hits, no walks, and thirteen strikeouts as Atlanta defeated Miami 11-0 in Truist Park.
But he sure pitched pretty well.
Strider overcame two early runs, both in the second on six consecutive balls not hit particularly hard, to go six and two-thirds innings with six hits, three runs (two earned), one walk and nine strikeouts, using 109 pitches (71 strikes) to do it.
It's the continuation of a new level of performance for Strider, who has been mixing in his changeup a bit more over the last three outings, all quality starts (and Braves wins). Atlanta is 15-2 in his outings this season, including winning the last seven starts.
Here's the full list of takeaways.
