WATCH: Ozzie Albies blasts a two-run homer to give the Braves a 2-0 lead

An Ozzie Albies homer gives the Braves a 2-0 lead over the A's.

Ozzie Albies took a 2-2 breaking ball and pulled it over the right field wall to give the Braves a 2-0 lead.

Eddie Rosario was on first base at the time, which is why this Albies bomb was a two-run blast.

This was a great piece of hitting by the Braves second baseman as he was able to take a perfect pitch and hit it out the yard.

This homer had an exit velocity of 98.4 mph and traveled 348 feet.

For a Braves offense that has struggled of late, a homer from one of your veterans will hopefully spark the bats.

Let's take a look at Albies homer that cleared the short porch in right field.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves vs Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, May 31st

Starting for the Braves is LHP Jared Shuster. The youngster is 1-2 with a 5.33 ERA in his five starts. He started twice early in the season, with the Braves losing both of those outings after he put up a 8.31 ERA with nine walks to five strikeouts, before being sent to AAA Gwinnett to work on some issues. He's seemingly figured things out recently, with his last three starts showing a much improved 3.78 ERA and six walks to fifteen strikeouts. He's never faced Oakland.

Opposing Atlanta is RHP James Kaprielian. 0-5 on the season with a 8.45 ERA, he's got nine appearances (six starts) with thirty-four strikeouts to twenty-one walks in his thirty-three innings on the year. He's never faced Atlanta, and no Braves hitters have a recorded plate appearance against him (although, as he's on his fourth year, both Matt Olson and Sean Murphy are familiar with him).
