TAKEAWAYS: Braves clinch series win over Rockies with a crushing 10-2 victory
The Braves utilized an extremely hot start to win game three 10-2 against the Rockies, clinching a series win.
Atlanta crushed the long ball early
Atlanta hit four home runs in the first three innings of the game and it was all but over. Matt Olson got the party started with a 3-0 grand slam in the bottom of the first inning. Ozzie Albies was the lone homer in the second, and Eddie Rosario and Orlando Arcia went back-to-back in the third - Rosario bringing d'Arnaud in as well.
The Braves have been known for their power bats this season and Saturday was the perfect example of what they're capable of... against a decent pitcher as well. Connor Seabold hadn't given up a home run in his prior three starts.
Bryce Elder had an elite performance
Elder, who currently boasts Atlanta's best ERA (2.62), went 6.0 innings, allowed four hits and one run with four strikeouts and no walks. He'll get his strikeouts every now and then, but Elder has been excellent at coaxing soft contact out of the opponent and was largely effective in inducing groundouts.
Orlando Arcia continues his dream season
Arcia leads the Braves in batting average (.329) and went 3-4 against the Rockies on Saturday - nearly hitting for the cycle (single, double, home run).
On a day where the lineup was hot, Arcia showed out and was the only Brave to get three hits on the afternoon.
