Braves Lead Baseball With Nine Placements in MLB Network 'Top 100'

The Atlanta Braves have one of the most talented rosters in all of baseball

The Atlanta Braves can best be described as a UNIT.

Leading all of baseball in just about every offensive measure while also tying the single-season homer record, along with Spencer Strider leading the league in winning percentage, strikeouts, and strikeout rate AND Ronald Acuña Jr having only the 5th 40/40 season in MLB history (and doing it in dominant fashion), the Braves appear to have the best collection of talent on paper of any team in MLB.

And MLB Network just confirmed that assessment for us, with the Braves placing a league-high nine players in their 'Top 100' countdown.

Ronald Acuña Jr (rightfully) took the #1 spot, only the fourth different player to hold that distinction in the last decade.

Los Angeles Angels OF Mike Trout: 2013-2014, 2016-2021
Los Angeles Dodgers LHP Clayton Kershaw: 2015
Los Angeles Angels TWP Shohei Ohtani (now with Dodgers): 2022-2023
Atlanta Braves OF Ronald Acuña Jr: 2024

Ronald was very thankful for his rating, appearing on MLB Network to discuss the #1 spot (in English) after being selected.

When asked what he had to do to remain at #1 on next year's list, Ronald said it was simple: "I need to stay healthy and play like how I play - like last year." But he also confirmed that 2023 wasn't even his final form, saying he had a very simple focus for 2024: "I'm trying to be better than last year and stay healthy, and that's it."

Six of Ronald's lineup mates were also recognized in the countdown, as well as two members of Atlanta's rotation.

#83: DH/1B (?) Marcell Ozuna
#66: 2B Ozzie Albies --> not in the top ten at his position but #66 in all of baseball? Yep, makes total sense.
#50: CF Michael Harris II
#48: LHP Max Fried
#47: C Sean Murphy
#17: RHP Spencer Strider
#15: 3B Austin Riley
#13: 1B Matt Olson
