Lineup, how to watch Atlanta's series opener at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies

The Braves and starter Bryce Elder head to play the Colorado Rockies at altitude in Denver

The Atlanta Braves, fresh off of a series win versus the San Francisco Giants this weekend, get into the 2nd leg of their road trip with a series opener tonight in Denver against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies, 49-81, aren't a threatening team on paper but they can be in Coors Field - Their OPS is 121 points better at home, and opposing pitcher ERAs are prone to inflation after even a short series there. Baseball Reference highlights it as the most extreme hitters' park in baseball, with a Park Factor of 115 (meaning it's 15% better than average for hitters).

Lineup for the Atlanta Braves on Monday, August 28th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Ozzie Albies returns to the lineup, batting 2nd, which moves Michael Harris II back to his preferred #9 hole. Get used to seeing Kevin Pillar this week, because Atlanta's got four lefties on the docket this week. Pillar's playing for Eddie Rosario, batting 8th, while Sean Murphy rotates in behind the plate, batting 6th.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies on Monday, August 28th

Starting for Atlanta is RHP Bryce Elder. 10-4 with a 3.39 ERA on the season, he's struck out 103 in his 25 starts. After some post-ASB struggles, Elder used matchups against the New York teams to right the ship: He's 2-0 with one run allowed in his last 12.1 innings, with three hits combined against the Yankees and Mets. He picked up a win at home against Colorado on June 17th, going six innings with one run on four hits, striking out four and walking none.

Opposing the Braves is LHP Austin Gomber. The 29 year-old is 9-9 with a 5.48 ERA in his 26 starts this season, striking out only 86 in his 136.1 innings. He avoided facing the Braves on their trip to Atlanta, but several members of the roster have had success against him: Travis d'Arnaud is 3-3 with two homers and six RBIs, while Ronald Acuña Jr is 1-5 with a solo homer.
