Braves Postpone Tonight's Game Against Mets due to Weather

Tonight's game between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets will be made up in September

The Atlanta Braves have announced that, due to "forecasted inclement weather" in the area, tonight's game against the New York Mets has been postponed.

The National Weather Service projects the rain chance to exceed 50% by 8:00 PM, once it begins raining, it's not expected to stop for a while - the Atlanta metro area's predicted to get 3/4ths of an inch of rain overnight.

The game will be made up on September 26th at 7:20 PM ET. All tickets from the postponed game will be honored on the September date; for more information, visit braves.com/rainout.

Allan Winans was the projected starter for Atlanta tonight, and the Braves have not decided what they'll do for tomorrow's series finale. Scheduled for 12:20 PM, the originally planned starter was Max Fried. It's possible that Atlanta allowed Fried to make his start as scheduled, but pushing back Allan Winans to tomorrow could be the route the team takes. If that's what Atlanta does, the group of Fried, Sale, Morton and López would all pitch with one additional day of rest.

The Braves are on the road this weekend in Miami before then heading to Houston to take on the Astros from Minute Maid Park.
