WATCH: the Atlanta Braves "small ball" their way to a first inning lead in Cincinnati

Atlanta strings together three straight singles to score a 1st inning run

Atlanta, as they so often do, scored a first inning run.

It just looked a little...different than usual. We're used to seeing Ronald Acuña Jr get on base to start a game, steal 2nd, and then get brought in via a long base hit. But Atlanta's playing small ball tonight in Cincinnati, using three consecutive singles to score the first run of the series.

After a leadoff single to left for Ronald Acuña Jr, he moved from first to third on a ground ball to the right side by Ozzie Albies. Austin Riley proceeded to square one up the middle, right at 2nd baseman Jonathan India, cheating up the middle.

But he couldn't handle it, and Ronald jogged in from 3rd.

Atlanta's looking to keep the win streak alive, while knocking off Cincinnati's winning streak. First pitch from Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati is set for 6:40 PM ET. The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports Southeast and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
