WATCH: Austin Riley homers for the second time in as many nights

While not quite the moonshot last night's was, Riley's 1st-inning blast had plenty of distance

After falling into an 0-2 hole against Cardinals starter (and former Met) Steven Matz, the Braves' third-baseman worked the count full (while Ronald Acuña Jr. stole second). Matz's 3-2 offering was a hanging slider, and Riley muscled it out into the Braves' bullpen in left-center.

The blast was Riley's second in as many nights, following last night's 473-foot mega-tater (which also came in the 1st inning), and it staked Atlanta's rookie starter Dylan Dodd to an early 2-0 lead. The Braves will attempt to take the series tonight against the loathsome Cardinals, with game three set for tomorrow afternoon at Busch Stadium at 12:15 ET.

How to watch

The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports Southeast, and is available on MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
