WATCH: Braves put five runs on the board in the bottom of the second inning

Kevin Pillar and Ozzie Albies each had RBI doubles to give the Braves a 5-1 lead

The Braves scored five runs to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning.

The inning began with two base hits from Sean Murphy and Matt Olson. With runners on second and third, Kevin Pillar roped a line drive just over the glove of Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon to score both runners. The Braves had a 2-1 lead.

Pillar continues to come up with clutch hits in big moments. He provides solid depth off the bench and is also a reliable starter when needed in left field.

Following Pillar’s double, Arcia and Acuña walked to load the bases.

Ozzie Albies smoked a ball down the left-field line to score all three base runners. Ozzie was moved up to the two spot in the lineup for tonight’s game. It was a great move by Snit.

The Braves now have a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning, with Sean Murphy, Matt Olson, and Marcell Ozuna due up.

The Rockies had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the inning on a solo home run from Elias Díaz - AJ Smith-Shawver left a hanger in the middle of the zone, and Díaz absolutely BLASTED it to the 2nd deck in left field to mark the first earned run of the season in explosive fashion for AJ Smith-Shawver.
