WATCH: Colorado threw Kevin Pillar a first-pitch fastball and he CRUSHED it
There's just some things that you learn not to mess with:
Rattlesnakes. The IRS.
Kevin Pillar on the first pitch.
Apparently, Kyle Freeland's a gambling man.
The Rockies left-hander threw Kevin Pillar a first pitch sinker in the top of the 3rd inning, and Pillar launched it 443 feet to center field to give Atlanta an early lead in the series finale.
See, here's the thing about throwing a first-pitch fastball to Kevin Pillar:
Pillar bats .350 with an OPS of .900 this season when he swings at the first pitch.
And not only for a pitcher to try it, but a lefty pitcher? Against the guy that's only in the lineup to hit lefties? And to try it with a sinker?
It's a recipe for disaster and Colorado's lucky it was only one run.
Anyway, Atlanta's up by one run in support of Darius Vines, making his first career start in the majors for the Braves.
