WATCH: Marcell Ozuna puts Atlanta in front with his 30th bomb of the year

The Braves' DH continues his tear with an oppo taco blast in the second inning, and Eddie Rosario and Sean Murphy add to the lead

Marcell Ozuna has been one of the best hitters in baseball since May, which only the truest believers among us could've predicted back in April. But here he is, launching his 30th homer of the season before the dawn of September.

Rockies starter Peter Lambert missed his spot badly with a 92mph heater, and it ran out over the outer half of the plate. The Big Bear got full extension and laced it into the seats over the big scoreboard in right at Coors Field. This blast is his 30th of the season, and he joins Matt Olson and Austin Riley in the 30-homer club (with RonaldĀ AcuƱa Jr. and Ozzie Albies likely to soon join them). It's also his 72nd RBI and 67th run scored on the season. His batting average is over .265 and his OPS is over .850. None of this seemed remotely possible back in April, but here we are.

Eddie Rosario followed with a triple high off the wall in right-center, and he was chased home on a solid single by Sean Murphy. With that, the Braves lead 2-0 in the early going behind Charlie Morton.

Tonight's gameĀ is being broadcast across Braves Country on Bally Sports South. The radio call is available in the Atlanta metro area on 680 The Fan, across the Southeast on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network, and nationally on MLB.tv.
