WATCH: Matt Olson annihilates slider, extends Braves' lead in the eighth
The late innings have been fruitful for the Braves tonight at Citizens Bank Park. Mash Olson returned to Philadelphia tonight, where he's feasted in his career, and defeated a lefty-lefty matchup in spectacular fashion in the top of the eighth.
Phillies reliever Andrew Vasquez throws a lot of sliders, and Matty O was sitting on those sliders. 438 feet later and the lead grew to 4-1. This is Olson's 21st tater of the season, and his eighth career homer at Philly. The Braves would put a couple more runners on in the eighth, but Vasquez escaped further damage. The game now moves into its final stages, with Atlanta up 3-1 and looking to extend their divisional lead at Philadelphia's expense.
The TV broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports South and is available on TBS and MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
