WATCH: Matt Olson hits the 200th home run for the Atlanta Braves this season

The Atlanta Braves finally get things going thanks to Matt Olson.

Atlanta was having a tough night at the plate against the Los Angeles Angels. Then Matt Olson hit the 200th home run of the season for the Atlanta Braves, 34 more than any other team in the MLB.

Check out Olson's deep shot that put Atlanta on the board in the fifth inning and cut into the deficit to make it a 2-1 ball game.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Angels on Monday, July 31st

Starting for the Atlanta Braves is Charlie Morton. The veteran is 10-8 with a 3.57 ERA in his twenty starts on the season, striking out 120 batters in his 113.1 innings. Morton hasn't faced the Angels this season, but several of these Angels hitters have experience against him from their time on other teams. 3B Eduardo Escobar, acquired from the Mets, has batted .294 against Morton across 17 at-bats with one homerun and two RBIS, while former Royals and Reds infielder Mike Moustakas is 3-12 with one homerun and a whopping 7 RBIs. Notably, Shohei Ohtani is 0-6 against Morton.

Opposing Atlanta is Griffin Canning. The righty is 6-4 with a 4.46 ERA in his 16 starts this season, having struck out 91 batters in his 84.2 innings pitched. He's somewhat homer prone, giving up an average of one per start (16 hit in 16 games). Not many Atlanta players have faced him, but the four that have all registered hits - Matt Olson is 4-16 with two homeruns and three RBIs, Marcell Ozuna is 203 with a homerun and two RBIs, Sean Murphy is 1-4, and Kevin Pillar is 1-3.
