WATCH: Matt Olson homers again, makes history in Philadelphia

Mash Olson goes oppo to tie Andruw Jones's franchise record for homers in a single season

Matt Olson has had a season for the ages, and it continued tonight with yet another home run. This one came off Phillies ace Zack Wheeler in the top of the fourth inning.

With the Braves trailing 1-0 in a game where runs figure to be at a premium, Olson lifted a first-pitch fastball out to straightaway left. It was very similar to the oppo bomb he hit last night for his 50th. This one carried into the front row out there, and it brings Olson even with Andruw Jones's single-season franchise record, which he set back in 2005. It also moves Olson to within four RBI of that single-season franchise high-water mark*.

*- Gary Sheffield drove in 132 runs back in 2003 for the Atlanta record. Eddie Mathews knocked in 135 in 1953 for the modern (since 1900) Braves mark. Hugh Duffy drove in 145 in 1894 for the overall team record.

Matt has the rest of tonight and 17 more games to break those records and continue adding on, and with the way he's hitting right now, that seems very likely. None other than Andruw Jones himself, tweeting his thoughts in response to the highlight, asked if 60 was realistic for Matt Olson.

Max Fried will continue to battle against Wheeler and the Phillies in a matchup of two of the best pitchers in baseball. If the Braves win, their magic number to clinch the division will be reduced to 2. The TV broadcast is on Bally Sports South and MLB.tv (out of area). The radio call is available in the Atlanta metro area on 680 The Fan, across the Southeast on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network, and nationally on MLB.TV.
