WATCH: Matt Olson LAUNCHES a ball to right in Wrigley Field to give Atlanta a 2-0 lead
Justin Steele's had a great season for the Chicago Cubs, and was cruising in this one.
The lefty, who leads baseball in wins with twelve, had allowed singles in the first three innings but stranded those runners on base every time.
That is, until Matt Olson got a 2nd look at him. After walking Olson in the 1st inning on five balls, all down and/or away, Steele tried to attack Olson up with fastballs and away with sliders, but left a slider hanging over the plate.
Olson didn't miss it.
The slider, crushed 110 mph, went a ridiculous 453 feet to right field and almost cleared the ballpark to land in the street behind, like so many long home runs to left field to.
The homer, Olson's 39th of the season, scored Ronald Acuña Jr from 2nd after he singled to open the inning and then stole his 53rd base of the season.
UPDATE: Olson's home run ties his single-season high, and it's only August 6th.
Charlie Morton's back out in the bottom of the 3rd, looking to hold the slim lead.
