WATCH: Ozzie Albies puts the Braves in front with a solo mash

The second-sacker hits lucky number 13 to straightaway center to put Atlanta up 1-0 over New York

With the rainless rain delay over, the Braves' offense is attempting to go to work early on Mets starter Carlos Carrasco. They had action in the first after back-to-back singles from Matt Olson and Austin Riley, but Carrasco induced a double-play grounder off the bat of Sean Murphy. He would not be so lucky in the second inning, though.

Carrasco fell behind Ozzie (with a pitch-clock violation from catcher Omar Narvaez mixed in) and had to attack the zone with a fastball, which is not his signature pitch. Ozzie showed why by launching it 417 feet just left of straightaway center, with the gritty, hustling effort from a gritty, grinding, hustling Brandon Nimmo failing to keep the ball from sailing over the fence. Left-handed production from Albies is always worth noting, and he stakes Bryce Elder to an early 1-0 lead in this series-opener.

The game broadcast, with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin, is available inside Braves Country on Bally Sports South and is available on both TBS and MLB.TV outside of the broadcast area. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on 680 AM/93.7 FM The Fan or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
