WATCH: Ozzie Albies scores from first on a ground ball to second base to give Atlanta a late lead in New York
Atlanta scored 21 runs in the first game to easily run away with the first game of the doubleheader, but have had to work a bit more in game two.
Holding a narrow 1-0 lead in the top of the 8th inning, Ozzie Albies led off with a HBP that just barely grazed his pinky (still counts, though). And then Austin Riley ripped a ground ball to 2nd base, and it absolutely ate. Danny Medick. alive.
The ball, which rolled to centerfield, was then bobbled by Danny centerfielder Tim Locastro. Fortunately, Ozzie Albies took off on the crack of the bat and never stopped running.

Credit where it's due, 3rd base coach Ron Washington was very enthusiastically sending Albies the entire time. Ozzie scored from 1st base to extend Atlanta's lead to 2-0 late in the day, and it's a sorely needed insurance run. AJ Minter is up in the Atlanta pen for the 8th, and we're assuming Raisel Iglesias is going to come out for the 9th inning to secure the win.
UPDATE: The scoring decision was changed to a fielder's choice and a fielding error at 2nd base, instead of a base hit and a fielding error on centerfielder Tim Locastro.
Scoring decisions don't always make sense.
