WATCH: Sean Murphy and the Braves continue piling it on against Boston

The Braves catcher singles in two more runs to push the lead to 7-1

After a four-run first inning, Braves catcher and Major League fWAR leader first extended the lead with a run-scoring single in the second to push the lead to 5-0.

Boston got a run back in the third thanks in part to a curious balk call from third-base umpire Jansen Visconti, but Murphy again extended the lead with another single to left in the bottom of the fourth.

It was an inning full of hard-hit balls to that side of the field, as Orlando Arcia opened things with a single into the gap. Ronald Acuña Jr. followed by lacing another ball to near the same spot, turning a brief bobble by center-fielder Jarren Duran into a hustle double. A Matt Olson walk loaded the bases, with Austin Riley then smoking a line drive right into Rafael Devers' glove at third. Murphy wiped away that bit of bad luck, though, and the hit parade against Boston starter Nick Pivetta was on again.

The Braves carry a 7-1 lead now into the middle innings with Uncle Charlie Morton still on the mound. Tomorrow night wraps up the short two-game series with the Red Sox. First pitch at Truist Park is again set for 7:20 ET, and the telecast with Voice of the Braves Brandon Gaudin is available on Bally Sports South. The radio call, with Ben Ingram, is available locally on WIFN 1340 AM/103.7FM or outside the Atlanta market on the Atlanta Braves Radio Network or MLB.com.
