WATCH: Vaughn Grissom gives Atlanta a late lead versus the Royals

Atlanta's replacement shortstop gets an 9th inning RBI to give Atlanta a lead in the finale

Vaughn Grissom didn't wait long to make an impact at the major league level.

Being called up this week to replace an injured Orlando Arcia, on the IL with a "microfracture" of his wrist, Grissom is making it happen in his stead.

Batting with one out in the 9th and Ozzie Albies on second in a tie game, Grissom gave Atlanta the lead with a go-ahead single up the right side. Here's the video: Griss

Grissom did a great job of not trying to do too much, just punching an 0-2 pitch past a diving Vinnie Pasquantino for the go-ahead RBI, scoring Ozzie from 2nd.

Grissom's had an impact with his bat early, batting going 3-9 with an RBI in the first two games of the series and bringing in the winning run here in game three.

AJ Minter is on to close out the game for Atlanta, who looks for their third series sweep of the season before heading to San Diego for a rematch with the Padres, who won the series 3-1 in Atlanta at the beginning on April.
