TRANSACTION: Braves activate & DFA Ehire Adrianza from injured list

The veteran utility man was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and immediately designated for assignment

Per reports, the Atlanta Braves have activated infielder Ehire Adrianza from the 60-day Injured List and designated him for assignment.

Adrianza, 34, was on his 2nd stint with Atlanta prior to the injury. Originally joining Atlanta for the 2021 season on a minor league deal, Adrianza saw action in 109 games that year, batting .247/.327/.401 w/ 5 home runs. Used as both a backup infielder and as one of the many options in the outfield prior to the trade deadline, Adrianza won a World Series ring with the franchise and elected free agency after the season.

He signed with the Washington Nationals in March of 2022, being traded back to Atlanta at the trade deadline for 2B Trey Harris. He elected free agency last offseason and returned to the team on a minor league free agent deal.

Adrianza had most recently been on the injured list for an elbow injury, suffered in May after only only big league start. He went on the 10-day injured list and re-aggravated the injury, necessitating a placement on the 60-day injured list instead. He left for rehab in High-A Rome on September 5th, transferring it to AAA Gwinnett in mid-September.

For his Braves career, Adrianza played in 120 games with a career slash line of .299/.315/.371 while spending time in all three outfield spots, second base, third base and shortstop.
