One former member of the St. Louis Cardinals has found himself a new home.

Veteran left-handed pitcher Anthony Misiewicz was acquired by the Cardinals in February ahead of the 2023 campaign. Misiewicz was optioned to the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds but didn't break camp with the club as he was designated for assignment by St. Louis at the end of March to make room on the roster for young phenom Jordan Walker.

Since being designated for assignment by St. Louis, Misiewicz has bounced around this season. The 28-year-old has seen time at the big league level with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tigers but was designated for assignment once again by Detroit. Misiewicz is on the move once again after being claimed off waiver by the New York Yankees, according to the MLB transaction log.

New York claimed Misiewicz off waivers from Detroit and was sent to the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Misiewicz began his career in the Yankees farm system by pitching 1 2/3 innings for the RailRiders and didn't allow a run while striking out two batters.

Misiewicz has been a journeyman throughout his professional carer. The lefty initially was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 18th round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Michigan State University. He began his big league career during the 2020 COVID-shortened campaign and pitched to a 4.05 ERA in 21 appearances. He spent the first two full seasons of his career with Seattle before joining the Kansas City Royals in 2022. The 28-year-old was designated for assignment by the Royals before joining the Cardinals.

Hopefully he is able to impress at the minor league level and make his way back to the big league with the Yankees.
