The St. Louis Cardinals have not had the season they were hoping for through 41 games but appear to be turning a corner and have at least four more reasons for hope.

The Cardinals landed four players on MLB Pipeline's Top 100 list, starting at the very top.

Cardinals budding outfielder Jordan Walker was named the No. 1 prospect in Major League Baseball. The 20-year-old phenom made the Opening Day roster but was demoted amid St. Louis' dysfunction to begin the year.

Walker hit .274 with five extra-base hits including a pair of home runs and a .718 OPS in 20 games. He'll be up again at some point this season and likely make an impact for a club that could use a boost.

After Walker comes shortstop Masyn Winn at No. 40, right-handed starting pitcher Tink Hence at No. 64 and left-handed starting pitcher Matthew Liberatore at No. 93 overall.

Winn and Liberatore could end up on the big league roster this season as both players are only one level away at Triple-A Memphis. The former is a promising middle infielder with a rocket arm who is expected to eventually become the Cardinals' franchise shortstop. The latter already made his big league debut last season and appears to be breaking out right now.

Hence is full of potential but currently resides at High-A Peoria as a 20-year-old and will need a couple of years to develop before his debut.

The big league club is underperforming but still is loaded with high-quality players. The farm system combined with the current core gives plenty of reason for fans to be excited.

Before starting "Inside The Cardinals", Neville attended Merrimack College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Media with a minor in Marketing. Neville spent all four years with Merrimack's radio station WMCK, where he grew as a radio/podcast host and producer. His propensity for being in front of a microphone eventually expanded to film, where he produced multiple short films alongside his then-roommate and current co-worker Stephen Mottram. On a journey that began as a way to receive easy credits via film classes, he received a call from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" star Charlie Day. Day advised him to make a feature-length film, which he completed his senior year. While writing the film, Neville completed an internship for United Way as part of their NFL Partnership Program. Neville ran the blog for a team of interns and hosted an internet show called "United Way's NFL Partnership Series" where he interviewed NFL alumni. After college Neville wrote for SB Nation's "Over The Monster," a Red Sox sister site of the flagship brand. His work would eventually lead him to a job as a content producer with NESN, where he would cover all sports. After developing as a writer with the top regional network in the world, he was given the opportunity to join FanNation and the Sports Illustrated Media Group as the publisher of "Inside The Red Sox."  After a few months as the top Major League Baseball site in the program, Neville sought expansion and pitched "Inside The Cardinals," one of the newest additions to FanNation and the Sports Illustrated Media Group. The successful launch and quick rise of "Inside The Cardinals" led to Neville joining the Baseball Essential ownership group, a national baseball site under SIMG.
