In this story:

May 6, 2023: The St. Louis Cardinals are removing Wilson Contreras from catching duties and will instead have him playing corner outfield and taking on designated hitter duties according to The Athletic

Contreras is a bottom-five catcher defensively and has trouble calling pitches. The Cardinals are struggling mightily to start the season, but their pitching has been the main culprit.

Moving Contreras to the outfield doesn't seem like a fix-all solution but it will mix things up.

May 1, 2023: The New York Yankees have placed star slugger Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list after suffering a hip strain on Thursday against the Texas Rangers

Manager Aaron Boone had said on Friday, ahead of the game against the Rangers, that they were going to be making a decision on Monday on whether or not to place Judge on the injured list.

Well, that decision has now been made.

Judge also suffered injuries to his hands and wrists last Wednesday in the series finale against the Minnesota Twins after a head-first slide. While he said it did not affect him from playing, it will be a good opportunity for him to get totally healthy.

New York wants their 2022 American League MVP at full strength.
