The Chicago Cubs have been able put together one of the best pipelines in the sport after becoming sellers at the trade deadline in 2021 and 2022.

Many of these players are knocking on the door to play at the Major League level, and because of different injuries that have taken place the past two seasons, a few of them have gotten that opportunity.

For the most part, the call ups have showed well.

Javier Assad, Jordan Wicks, Luke Little, and most recently Ben Brown have flashed talent that should keep them with the organization for a long time.

Now, another will get his opportunity in 2024.

According to both Jon Morosi and Jesse Rogers, the Cubs are calling up their No. 10 prospect Alexander Canario.

The 23-year-old made his MLB debut last year, getting six games of action where he recorded five hits in his 17 at-bats, hitting a double, triple, and home run with six RBI.

Despite the strong performance in his limited action, Chicago decided to start him out at Triple-A this year after he went 12-53 in Spring Training with only five extra-base hits, no homers, two RBI, and 15 strikeouts.

Now, he'll get another opportunity to showcase what he can do at this level after their three outfield options outside of right fielder Seiya Suzuki (Cody Bellinger, Ian Happ, and Mike Tauchman) went a combined 2-32 against the Seattle Mariners.

Having Canario will give manager Craig Counsell another option to be used at the plate and defensively.

There was no report indicating who might be designated for assignment and sent to the minors in order for their star prospect to be on the roster.
