At one point earlier in the season, it was a struggle for Chicago Cubs' star Seiya Suzuki in his second year in the MLB. He had been moved down in the lineup and even sat out multiple games as he tried to find his form at the plate again.

That is not the case anymore as he is red hot hitting during the second half of Aug.

Over his last 15 games, the slugger is hitting .364/.400/.673 with three home runs and 10 RBI. That includes a seven game stretch where he is .444/.500/.815 at the plate.

His hot form has been crowned by hitting a career mark so far in his young career. During Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Suzuki extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

The star outfielder previously had talked about changing his approach during his given time off. He spoke about making the right decisions at the plate and using an aggressive approach.

It's clearly paid off for him and it comes at the perfect time for the Cubs.

Entering Sunday's game, they held the second spot in the NL Wild Card standings, sitting a half game up on the Arizona Diamondbacks. In their division, the Milwaukee Brewers have gotten red hot, winning seven games in a row entering Sunday. Chicago trails in the divisional standings by four games.

With Suzuki putting together his best hitting performances all season, the Cubs' lineup continues to be deadly on offense. They'll look to continue riding this offensive output for their first playoff appearance since 2020.
