13 Diamondbacks Named to WBC Rosters
13 Diamondbacks will be participating in the World Baseball Classic this spring. The biggest names include Merrill Kelly who will pitch for team USA, while Ketel Marte will play for team Dominican Republic. Other D-backs major leaguers participating are Alek Thomas, who will play for team Mexico, and Emmanuel Rivera who will play for team Puerto Rico. The other 40-man roster player from the organization participating is outfield prospect Dominic Fletcher, who is ranked 14th on Inside the Diamondbacks Top 30 Prospect List. The field of teams has grown from 16 to 20 this year. They are broken out into four first round pools. Pool C will play at Chase Field in Arizona March 11-15th. Tickets can be purchased HERE. The Semifinals and Championship will be played in Miami, Florida.

The star studded event features the best players from around the world, both major leaguers and players from their respective countries. In total there will be 67 present or former MLB All Stars competing, including 35 players who were all starts in 2022. USA, Dominican Republic and Japan are considered the favorites to win the tournament, but the tournament has often been unpredictable.
