D-backs Make Postseason History With 4 Home Runs in 1 Inning

The Diamondbacks connected for four home runs off Lance Lynn, becoming the first team in the postseason to achieve that feat.

The Diamondbacks made some postseason history in the 3rd inning, becoming the first team to hit a home run four times in the same inning. Geraldo Perdomo (1st), Ketel Marte (2nd), Christian Walker (1st), and Gabriel Moreno (3rd) each connected off Lance Lynn to give Arizona a 4-0 lead.

Lynn came in allowing 44 home runs in 183 2/3 innings, including allowing 16 in 64 innings as a Dodger. The D-backs entered tonight's game with nine home runs in four games this postseason and in their last 15 postseason games overall. With a red hot team coming up against a pitch vulnerable to the long ball, the conditions were ripe for something historic to happen. After those four home runs, the D-backs have the most home runs this postseason with 13. The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies are tied for second with 10 each.

The D-backs will be looking to close out the Dodgers with a lead in Game 3 of the NLDS at Chase Field after winning the first two games at Dodger Stadium.
