This article is part of a series counting down the Diamondbacks' Top 30 prospects entering the 2024 season. These rankings are determined by Michael McDermott, in conjunction with the Inside the Diamondbacks staff.

Summary: Adriel Radney is the top international prospect signed by the D-backs, getting $1.85 million. MLB and FanGraphs ranked him as the No. 10 and 3 prospect on their respective lists. A potential five-tool center fielder in a projectable body with the potential to grow into plus power and a plus arm, his ceiling is up there with any prospect in the system. He'll begin his pro career in the Dominican Academy before playing his first games in June.

Rank: 7

Age: 16

Height/Weight: 6'1" 176 lbs.

Bat/Throws: Right/Right

Tools: Hit 45, Power 60, Run 50, Defense 50, Arm 60, Overall 45

ETA: 2029

2024 Expectations: Radney will begin his career in the Dominican Summer League. He will not turn 17 until late June, so he'll be one of the younger prospects there. The first year in the system is about getting reps and continue to refine the approach in order to tap more into his power as he gets older. With a prospect with the tools that he possesses, the expectation is he'll put up solid numbers in the DSL in 2024 and ready to make the jump to the Complex in 2025.

Projection: The D-backs have a lot of high ceiling outfielders in their system, although only Druw Jones and Kristian Robinson have comparable ceilings. Assuming the bat develops properly, Radney will likely slide over to right field with Corbin Carroll in left and Jones in center defensively and be a middle of the order bat. The tools profile well for a corner outfield role should he need to move there. He's the type of bat that could hit .250 with 25-30 home runs with above average defense at any outfield spot. However he's a long ways from realizing that potential.
