Besides the 2020 World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays have another thing in common — developing good pitchers. This offseason, the Dodgers traded some of their future for a bit of the Rays present when they acquired Rays ace Tyler Glasnow for young, bright Ryan Pepiot.

The Texas Rangers jumped all over Pepiot in his first outing with the Rays. The second time around, however, he turned in a stellar outing — in Colorado of all places.

Pepiot struck out a career-high 11 batters over six innings and did not give up an earned run. His marquee changeup looked every bit as nasty as Dodgers fans are used to seeing.

While many were sad to see Pepiot go, it's understandable considering what the Dodgers got back in return. Glasnow has Cy Young potential every year but has not thrown more than 120 innings in a season in his entire career.

Pepiot shined coming up with Los Angeles particularly in 2022 where he had a 2.14 ERA across 42.0 innings. He made such an impression that many questioned the Dodgers opting to go with Lance Lynn in the deciding Game 3 of the National League Divisional Series over Pepiot.

While he might not pitch for the Dodgers anymore, many Dodgers fans vocalize support for Pepiot with his new team. Rocking his trademark stirrup socks, he could go on to dazzle with an organization like the Rays.
